Adeline Pollard

VYPE: Adeline, what grade are you in and how long have you played tennis?
Pollard: I’m a junior at and I’m graduating a year early. I’ve played tennis since 6th grade, so six years.
VYPE: How does the team look for the upcoming season?
Pollard: We have a full team for the first time in a few years and I’m very excited to see what talent level our group can bring.
VYPE: What do you like most about your team and teammates?
Pollard: I enjoy the competitive environment that me and my teammates create together but I also enjoy how we are able to keep it light and fun and have a good time at our practices.
VYPE: What aspect of your game are you working to improve this season?
Pollard: I am continuously working on my mental stamina towards the game. I’ve noticed the importance of a strong mental state to focus clearly on my performance throughout the years.
VYPE: What have you enjoyed most about being a student-athlete at CHS?
Pollard: I enjoy my time at the tournaments and the chance to compete with my fellow cardinals the most.
VYPE: Are you involved in other clubs or groups at school?
Pollard: Yes, I am an officer of Collinsville HS FCCLA which stands for Family, Community, and Career Leaders of America. It is a national organization that works to improve leadership qualities in its members and to give back to our communities.
VYPE: Do you have a favorite subject in school or a favorite teacher?
Pollard: My favorite subject is math, and my favorite teacher is Mrs. Klinck who is a FACS teacher and is the advisor for Collinsville FCCLA.
VYPE: What would you like to do after you graduate?
Pollard: Right now, I have some interest in Sales/business.VYPE: What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
Pollard: In my free time I continue to work on my tennis to ensure that my little sister is never able to beat me and I like traveling and learning about different cultures.
