Q&A with Sand Springs’ Landon Barnes – Presented by Eric Davidson – State Farm Insurance

VYPE: Landon, tell me what does it mean to be a Sandite?

Landon Barnes: It means you’re someone who never gives up on their goals.

VYPE: What age did you start playing football and when did you know this was the sport for you?

LB: I started playing football in second grade and knew it was the sport for me after scoring three touchdowns in one game that year.

VYPE: Who on the team keeps everyone laughing and who is the most serious?

LB: Hayden Bristow keeps everyone laughing and Thomas Forbes is the most serious.

VYPE: Do you have a favorite subject in school and a favorite teacher?

LB: Math is my favorite subject and all of my math teachers I’ve had have been my favorite teachers.

VYPE: Do you have a game circled on the calendar? One you’re excited to play?

LB: The game on November 8th at Sapulpa High School.

VYPE: When you’re not working out or at practice, what can we find you doing?

LB: In my downtime I like to play video games.

VYPE: What’s the best advice you’ve been given?

LB: Trust gets you killed, love gets you hurt, and being real gets you hated. But on the football field, it’s all about trust and support.

VYPE: What would you like to do after you graduate from high school

LB: After I graduate, I would like to go into Real Estate or coach football.

VYPE: What’s the best kept secret in Sand Springs or about the football team?

LB: That’s a tough one. I don’t really know any secrets.
