From the Pitch with Skiatook’s Carsten Reamy – Presented by Hopkins Funeral Service

VYPE: Carsten, what grade are you in and what position are you playing this season?

Carsten Reamy: I am currently a senior in high school, and I play the center back position.

VYPE: When did you first start playing soccer?

CR: I first started playing soccer when I was around four years old.

VYPE: What have you enjoyed most about this team and the sport of soccer?

CR: Leading my team at practice and in games, as well as seeing the results of our hard work pay off are the things, I enjoy most about this sport.

VYPE: What are the strengths you bring to the field?

CR: My strengths include my leadership, my communication, my positioning, and my physicality. This year, I have improved heavily on my physicality and my technical skills with the ball.

VYPE: What makes being a Bulldog special to you?

CR: Due to Skiatook’s smaller community, I feel I have a connection to every player on our team. When at practice or during a game, this makes the difference. Being comfortable enough around each other is important in order for everyone to work together as a team and push each other to be the very best we can.

VYPE: Who have you been impressed with in early practices this season?

CR: I have been thoroughly impressed by our new transfer student Even Strand-Langbakk, as he is not afraid to speak up for the better of the team, he keeps his composure well, and his presence on the field is felt constantly.

VYPE: Who is the most serious player on the team and who keeps everyone laughing?

CR: Our team captain Tommy Roberson is the most serious and keeps our team organized, while Will Clark keeps the team in higher spirits.

VYPE: How do you prepare yourself for competition?

CR: Before competition, I listen to music beforehand and remain composed and relaxed.

What I love most about my teammates is their ability to laugh and have fun, but have the discipline to focus up and get serious when need be.

VYPE: What are your plans after high school?

CR: After high school I plan on going to college and receiving a major in biology.

VYPE: Who inspires you?

CR: Our other team captain Hunter Howell inspires me on the field as he is relentless and refuses to give up. When I see him keep his composure and persevere it inspires me to be the best I can.
