VYPE: What grade are you in this year and how long have you been playing baseball?
JJ Burwell: I’m a senior and I have been playing baseball for 14 years.

VYPE: Who has been a big influence in your life and why?

JJ: My teammates that push me to get better every single day.

VYPE: What position do you play and what position would you like to play?

JJ: I am a pitcher and 3rd baseman, I wish I could play center but I’m too slow.

VYPE: What is the best unwritten rule in baseball?

JJ: No stepping on the foul line.

VYPE: Steal a base or knock a double, which do you prefer?

JJ: Knock a double.

VYPE: What is your favorite pitch to hit?

JJ: Change up.

VYPE: What do you tell yourself at the plate?

JJ: I tell myself there is no one better than me.

VYPE: What is your favorite subject in school and who is your favorite teacher?

JJ: My favorite subject is math, and my favorite teacher is Coach G.

VYPE: What are your plans for after graduation?

JJ: I’m going to Connor’s State to play baseball and continue to play baseball.
