SKIATOOK BULLDOGS

Coach: PRESTON PEARSON

1-9

OFFENSE

A new era begins at SHS as coach Preston Pearson takes over the Bulldog program after the team went 1-9 last season. Pearson is eager to get to work and see what a new coaching staff can accomplish. “Almost a completely new coaching staff. We have to learn a new offensive and defensive schemes as well as new special teams schemes. We are instilling a culture of accountability and trustworthiness. We are combining great effort and attitude with consistency. We want to be competitive and compete at the highest level we can,” said Pearson. Everything starts up front for the Bulldogs and the leader of the pack on the line is Kyle Reckinger (6-2, 236, Jr.). The Bulldogs will run multiple formations with various personnel packages. Reckinger and his fellow offensive linemen are key to the success of the package the coaching staff puts together. A pair of wide receivers figure heavily into the scheme. Gabe Beaty (5-9, 140, Sr.) and Jayden Orth (6-2, 168, Jr.) are the two go-to targets in the passing game and will likely help the team on special teams.

DEFENSE

The odd front coach Pearson will run this season is based in stopping the ground game of the opponent. To do so, you need a durable, tough nose guard on the line. The Bulldogs have their NG in Adrian Havens (5-11, 272, Sr.). Havens is a tough, physical player that loves the battle in the trenches. His play will allow guys like Luke Sutton (5-10, 173, Sr.) and Eli Sutton (5-10, 173, Jr.) can roam free and find the ball carrier. “We want to commit to stopping the run. Try to have extra hats in the box. We will have a few even front packages to fit athletes we currently have in the program,” said Pearson. The coaching staff includes Chris Henderson, Jeremiah Johnston, Shea Garner, Marlon Houston, Richard Stickney, and Ryan Sutton.
