2024-25 Record: 25-5

OUTLOOK

Few teams in the last handful of seasons have been as dominant as the Owasso Rams. With a state title to their credit in 2024, head coach Brian Montonati is not resting on bringing one gold ball to the Owasso faithful. The focus remains the same as the Rams look to push their opponents into deep water and force them to play the game the Owasso way.

“Senior leadership and elite guard play will be the foundation of the Rams this season, led by ESPN Top 50 senior Jalen Montonati. The Rams will feature a starting lineup of five experienced guards who have collectively won over 70 games and competed in three consecutive State Tournaments, including capturing the Gold Ball in 2024,” coach Montonati said.

Jalen Montonati (6-7, Sr.) is one of the best high school basketball players in the history of Oklahoma high school sports. His name is etched in the history books and a few years from now we will look at Montonati the way we look at Trae Young, Shake Milton, or Chauncey Collins and their impact on high school basketball. Last season Montonati averaged 23 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game. He is a two-time Mr. Basketball Oklahoma award winner.

Running the point is Boden Williams (6-3, Sr.) who averaged 12 points, 5.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists per contest. Coach Montonati calls Williams a tough, dependable and unselfish.

“Boden Williams brings grit and leadership to everything he does. A high-IQ guard known for his relentless motor and defensive intensity; Boden is the kind of player every coach wants on the floor in big moments,” said Montonati. “A key piece in the Rams’ backcourt, he’s been instrumental in the team’s success over the past three seasons helping lead them to three straight State Tournament appearances and a State Championship in 2024.”

Julian Wilson (6-4, Sr.) is another guard who can average double digits in points and help this backcourt be one of the best in the state. Last season Wilson averaged 11 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game.

“A rising talent with tremendous potential, Julian Wilson represents the future of Owasso Rams Basketball. With a strong work ethic, natural athleticism, and a hunger to improve, Julian is quickly becoming a key contributor to the program,” coach Montonati said.

MJ Milton (6-4, Sr.) and Koen Scott (6-0, Sr.) are two players expected to contribute to the overall success of the program. Milton averaged 5.0 points, 2.0 rebounds and one assist while Scott went for 3.0 points, 2.0 rebounds and 2.0 steals a game. Both players will have an important role this season and the senior laden team looks to make history again and bring home the programs second gold ball.
