VYPE: What grade are you currently in and how long have you been playing volleyball?
Sophia St. Clair: I’m in 12th grade and I’ve been playing volleyball since 6th grade.
VYPE: Do you have a favorite place to play and if so why?
SSC: I love playing in the Skiatook Multipurpose Activities Center because that is where I practice with my friends and teammates during volleyball season.
VYPE: Are you involved in any other clubs or groups at school?
SSC: I’m involved in the Skiatook girls golf team, and an active member of the Skiatook FCCLA chapter.
VYPE: Who has been a big influence in your life and why?
SSC: My dad is my role model, he supports me and all of my ambitions. He makes me want to be the best version of myself in all aspects of life.
VYPE: What are your plans for after graduation?
SSC: After graduation, I want to spend the summer traveling around the US and then I plan on attending Colorado State University with a major in Marketing in the fall of 2025.
VYPE: Jump serve or standing serve, which do you prefer and why?
SSC: I prefer jump serving, as it can add more power to your serve, also it’s more fun to jump serve.
VYPE: Who is always going to the floor for a dig?
SSC: My teammate Kelee, is always putting her whole body and soul into digging a ball. It’s inspiring how she can maneuver herself into getting the most impossible ball up.
VYPE: What do you love most about your teammates?
SSC: I love how much fun it can be when my teammates are working together to make each other better.
VYPE: Who on the team keeps everyone laughing, who is the most serious and who has the best impression of your coach?
SSC: Cheyenne and Kelee are definitely the ones that always know how to make everyone laugh. Kaylee is the most dedicated and always keeps us going during practice and games.
