One of the top programs in the state, Collinsville High School and head coach Mike Keim are poised for another great year on the mat. Coach Keim said the team is working hard to live up to the expectations set by previous teams of the past.

Over the last decade, few teams have enjoyed as much success with the Cardinals bringing home 11 titles since 2011 and six dual state titles.

Hunter McBee – Collinsville High School

Two-time state qualifier Hunter McBee makes his return this season and he is ready to take that next step in his wrestling career. McBee, who will likely wrestle at 215-pounds or more, is a senior that coach Keim feels is ready to find his way to the podium.

“Collinsville is a team with great potential that is looking forward to this season. Our team will be led by senior state qualifier Hunter McBee and senior Mason Herron,” said coach Keim.

Mason Herron is another upperclassman who is looking to make the most of every match this season and work his way into the dance. Hunter Lindsey is another state qualifier who appears ready to take that next step and win his way to the podium this season. Together, they are the foundation of what should develop into another solid team in duals and in tournaments.

“Juniors Luke Ragle, Cruz Morrison, Daniel Gruenwald, Kaden Nation, Sean Ross, and state qualifier Hunter Lindsey gives us depth throughout the lineup. Sophomore Trip Darland, freshmen Braxton Jones, and Noah Josserand look to take a step forward and fill starting rolls this year,” said coach Keim.

Darland will wrestle heavyweight this season and has shown tremendous improvement since he first stepped onto the mat for the Cardinals.

The schedule is full of tournaments that will test the Cardinals this season. Trips to the Mid-America Nationals, the Joe Cole Classic, the Coweta tournament and Jenks tournament are all stacked with great teams. In late January the Cardinals will compete in the Jerry Billings Invitational at Sapulpa High School before taking on west side teams in the Yukon tournament. Dual state is set for February 15th with Class 5A regionals set for February 21st-22nd and the state tournament is scheduled for February 28th-March 1st.
