According to SNU.edu, the MAEL program is described as, “Refine your leadership skills in education, grades K-12. Students enrolled in the Master of Arts in Educational Leadership (MAEL) will learn from experts in the field in this specialized program made by educators, for educators.”
Southern Nazarene University continues to be a leader in post-graduate education through their master and doctorate programs. The Master of Arts in Educational Leadership (MAEL) is designed by educators for educators.
Dr. Stephoni Case, Professor and Program Director for the Doctor of Education in Administration and Leadership program, is heavily involved in the development, implementation and recruitment of students into the program.
“I build the program, develop instructors, work with Research Professors, recruits and meet with students. And I get to teach as well,” Case said.
Countless students have told us SNU was the right choice for them to continue their education, which will prepare them for career advancements in the future. Case said the success rate of SNU students is high.
“We have a great success rate with our students! The Wednesday night availability for classes as well as online classes really works. Also, the accelerated program – one class at a time and classes are six weeks long – helps educators graduate in a realistic time. The doctorate is done in 32 months with research writing included in that time frame,” Case said.
The perception from others who are considering pursuing their masters or doctoral degree, is they do not have the time, but SNU has made it easy for those professionals who do have other responsibilities in life.
“Students definitely have to be dedicated to their studies to earn a doctorate, but we have had so many educators thrive in this program. They can study issues that are important to them and do research that is meaningful,” Case said.
As SNU continues to be a leader in education, the future of the program is bright, and seats are filling up fast.
“The future is so exciting! Finishing a doctorate is a great accomplishment and while it’s personally fulfilling, it also opens doors that most graduates never anticipated,” Case said.
