Ellah Burton & Lady Cards Set Sights on Post Season Play – Presented by RibCrib

As the season has played out, the Collinsville Lady Cards have worked their way into a No. 13 ranking in Class 5A and could be one of the teams you don’t want to face in post season play.

Setter and right-side starter Ellah Burton is enjoying a great season on the court. We caught up with Ellah to find out more about her and what it means to be a Lady Card.

VYPE: Ellah, when did you start playing volleyball?

Ellah Burton: I began playing volleyball around 2nd grade.

VYPE: What’s one of your favorite memories from this season so far?

EB: One of my favorite memories this season has been our midnight practice!

VYPE: Who on the team keeps everyone laughing and who is the most serious?

EB: Anna Appelberg constantly has the team laughing, as we never know what she may say or do. Our whole team can be serious, especially if we are losing!

VYPE: What’s the best advice you have ever been given?

EB: One of the best pieces of advice I have been given was from my mom. “You can always do better.” I think it’s important to be reminded that you are never at your all-time greatest.

VYPE: What makes CHS a great place to be a student-athlete?

EB: CHS has been a great place for me as a student-athlete because teachers accommodate my sport schedules.

VYPE: What are your plans after you graduate?

EB: I plan to attend college and possibly play collegiate volleyball.
