OUTLOOK
Things are going well for the Lady Rams of Owasso. They return a nucleus of players who understand the game and play hard. Coach Shane Eicher believes this group has a great mix of seasoned veterans and young talent. “We will have a strong core of our kids coming back this season including three seniors who have committed to play Division 1 softball next year. We will also have some younger kids who have waited their turn to show us what they can do as well. We are super excited to get the season started,” said Eicher. A four-year starter and Oklahoma State commit Jayelle Austin (CF, Sr.) is the leadoff hitter and a player everyone loves to see take the field. Austin has excellent speed and is the catalyst that gets everything started for the Rams. Austin hit .472 last season with five homeruns.
KK Knight (C/3B, Jr.) exploded onto the scene for the Rams as an underclassman. Knight enters her junior year as one of the top catchers and hitter in the state. Last season Knight hit .459 with five homeruns. Not to be left out of the great hitter conversation is Addi Drummond (C/3B, Sr.) who played through an emotional year last season and returns to finish her career at Owasso with her best season yet. Drummond hit .441 with 42 RBIs and 12 dingers.
Preslee Downing (P/OF, Sr.) was nails from the circle as a junior. Her record was 19-1 with an ERA of 0.83. Downing has committed to Stephen F. Austin University where she will become a Lumberjack next fall.
Carly Erpelding (C/1B/3B, Jr.) is a versatile player who is all-in on doing whatever it takes to help this team win. Also look for Katie Drummond and Kennedy Hamilton to play key roles in the overall success of the team.
