Owasso Wrestling – Presented by Tulsa Bone & Joint

Owasso girls wrestling is young, talented, and on the rise, building around a core that does not feature a single senior but already knows how to win. Head coach Brian Edwards likes the long-term upside of this group, which is led by a proven state placer and an accomplished freshman ready to make an impact.

Payton Maggard sets the tone as a junior and returning state medalist. She placed 3rd as a freshman and came into last year’s state tournament undefeated before suffering a shoulder injury in the first round that ended her run prematurely, underscoring both her dominance and toughness. Maggard is also a standout multi-sport athlete, starting at second base for the Owasso softball team that captured the Class 6A state championship last year, bringing a champion’s mindset into the wrestling room every day.

Lindlee Hubbard gives Owasso another high-upside competitor who already boasts a strong résumé at the lower levels. The freshman is coming off a junior high state title and has competed on multiple dual teams in both freestyle and folkstyle, providing valuable experience that should translate quickly to high school success. With Maggard’s leadership, Hubbard’s emerging talent, and a roster full of underclassmen gaining varsity reps, the Rams are positioned to grow together and become a force over the next few seasons.
