Owasso’s Boden Williams

By Mike Moguin

The best advice anyone has ever given Boden Williams, he said, is, “Give your life to Jesus.”

Williams, a senior starter for Owasso’s state tournament basketball team, has done that and lives his life as a Christian.

His role models for his salvation are his parents, “because they live out every day what it means to be a true follower of Jesus Christ,” Williams said.

Reading the Bible is one of his hobbies.

“Some of my teammates and I do a Bible study together once a week,” Williams said.

When he is out representing the Rams on the court, Williams looks forward to “Getting the opportunity to be a light for Jesus at such a great school,” he said.

His other hobbies are working out, sleeping, and spending time with his girlfriend.

Oral Roberts University is his favorite college basketball team. He doesn’t really have a favorite NBA team, “but if I had to pick one, it would be the Oklahoma City Thunder,” Williams said.

Favorite players of the Owasso senior are Steph Curry of the Golden State Warriors and Payton Pritchard of the Boston Celtics. His favorite high school basketball memory is obvious. “Winning a state championship my sophomore year,” Williams said.

Through playing on the hardwood, Williams has learned “to always encourage and be kind to people because you never know what they are going through,” he said.

Every teammate is considered special in the eyes of Williams.

“I think every single person I have played with has had an impact on me in a different way,” he said. “I want to say thank you to every single person who has been a part of my life,” Williams added. “You each have made a big impact, and I am super grateful for all of you.”
