Q&A with Catoosa’s Emma DeArmond – Presented by Catoosa Flowers

: What grade are you currently in and how long have you been playing volleyball?

DeArmond: I am in 10th grade and I have been playing since my sixth grade year.

VYPE: What opponent do you look forward to playing this year?

DeArmond: The opponent I’m looking forward to is Tecumsah. It’s our regional match but I know we will be just fine if we come out and play.

VYPE: Who has been a big influence in your life and why?

DeArmond: Someone who’s a really big influence on me is my parents. They show me that even when it’s tough to keep going because it’s all worth it in the end.

VYPE: What are your plans after you graduate?

DeArmond: My plan is to hopefully play volleyball somewhere and get a degree in teaching.

VYPE: What is your favorite pregame and postgame meal?

DeArmond: My favorite pregame meal is our apple sauces we get. My favorite post meal is IHOP with my team.

VYPE: What is your favorite subject in school and who is your favorite teacher?

DeArmond: My favorite subject is Forensic, I love looking into unsolved cases. My favorite teacher has to be Coach Hammons.

VYPE: Jump serve or standing serve? Which do you prefer and why?

DeArmond: I like a standing serve, I feel like I have more control. 

VYPE: What teammate is always going to the floor for a dig?

DeArmond: Tinsley Mitchell will lay out for anything, stay out of her way.

VYPE: Who is the best setter on the team?DeArmond: The best setter is definitely Kaydence Welch
