Owasso’s Macee Pruitt

The Lady Rams made the state tournament this season under the leadership of head coach Kendall Woodward. The roster features several talent players who are all capable of having big games. One rising star is Macee Pruitt.

Only a freshman, Pruitt has helped the Lady Rams this season and said she loves being part of the team.

“Being part of a team and the friendships I have formed over the years is what I love about basketball,” said Pruitt.

This season Pruitt said she wanted to continue to improve her game and help her team win.

“My goals are to continue to increase my basketball IQ and become more confident in my game,” Pruitt said. “Basketball has taught me you have to work hard to achieve what you want in life.”

Pruitt said she might be the best athlete in her family. She’s also an advocate for girl’s flag football.

“My family would say I am, but my sisters are also athletic. My oldest sister ran sprints and cheered, and my other sister was a great basketball and softball player,” Pruitt said. “I played flag football when I was younger for two seasons and loved it.”

Pruitt said having confidence in yourself, being a good communicator and putting the team first are qualities every great basketball player should have. The ability to make quick decisions is one of the toughest challenges for players Pruitt said. Which is why continued training and drilling different skills is something Pruitt does religiously.

“One of my private coaches, Daniel Chee. He has taught me a lot and pushes me. He has helped me become stronger mentally,” said Pruitt.
