Q&A with Owasso’s Millie Byerly – Soccer Spotlight – Presented by McGraw Realtors of Owasso

Owasso’s Millie Byerly

VYPE: Millie, what grade are you in and when did you start playing soccer?

Millie Byerly: I started playing soccer when I was four years old. Now, I am a senior in high school.

VYPE: What position do you play?

MB: I play outside back and winger in club and forward in high school. I would want to try being a center back so I can control the game and see the whole field in front of me.

VYPE: What do you love most about your teammates?

MB: I love that my teammates and I are so close. We’ve really worked to build our culture this year and you can really tell on the field how much we care for each other.

VYPE: Are you involved in clubs or groups at school?

MB: At school, I am involved in Student Council and National Honor Society.

VYPE: Which teammate has impressed you this season?

MB: This season, Anderson Rogers has impressed me so much. Andi is only a freshman and plays like she’s been on the team for years. You can see her passion for the sport in the way she plays every single game.

VYPE: What’s a strength for you and what have you improved on the most?

MB: One strength I have is my speed. One thing I’ve improved on the most is my vision on the field and my ability to find teammates through lines.

VYPE: How do you like to spend your down time?

MB: In my down time, I love to hangout outside or with friends. I always love to go on drives to calm down and listen to music.

VYPE: What are your plans after high school?

MB: After high school, I plan to go to the university of Illinois to play college soccer and major in neuroscience.

VYPE: What are your plans for the summer?

MB: My plans for the summer are to get fit for college soccer and to hang out with my friends and family as much as I can before I leave.
