Senior Spotlight – Getting to Know Owasso’s Tylen Edwards – Presented by Mingo Manufacturing Inc.

Owasso High School senior Tylen Edwards believes in her team and her teammates. The goal at OHS is always making the state tournament in softball and that goal is still the same this year.

“I love that the team is hard working, and we all work hard together and play for each other,” Edwards said. “My expectation for the season is to make it to state.”

Edwards said her teammates keep things interesting on and off the field.

“KK Knight is the most vocal and Kaylee Isam and Allie Flanagan keep everyone laughing,” said Edwards.

For the senior in her final year of prep softball, each game is bittersweet despite knowing it’s not her last game in the sport she loves.

“After I graduate, I want to go continue to play softball Southern Illinois University,” said Edwards.

The first baseman finds inspiration in her parents who support her and help guide her when necessary.

“My parents inspired me the most because of how hard they work to get me from point A to point B,” said Edwards.

In the classroom, Edwards said her favorite subject is math and her favorite teachers are Mrs. Wybrant and Mrs. Littlehead. Outside of softball, Edwards also wrestles for Owasso. But when she does have some down time, there are two things Edwards said she loves to do.

“I go shopping in my free time, or a take naps,” said Edwards.
