OUTLOOK
Head coach Chris Houk is excited to see how this group comes together this season. With a good mix or returning experience and an exciting group of underclassmen, Houk and the Cardinals are building something special.
“With a strong core of senior leadership and several promising underclassmen, the upcoming high school season looks optimistic, especially with a fast-paced offensive strategy and a get a stop at all costs defensive mind set. The team will need to navigate a challenging conference schedule and prove their resilience and character against tough opponents to contend for championships,” said coach Houk.
“ ”The senior class includes Dalton Tucker (G), Trey Hinojosa (F), Cooper Thurman (G), Logan Darden (F), Bryce Warren (F), David Bingham (F), and Felix Roland (F). This group will help bring this team together and give coach Houk quality minutes on the court.
The juniors are led by Gunner Kapuchuck (G), Dax Hamilton (F) and Kellen McElroy (G). It’s a small class, but it’s packed with a punch. Sophomores on the roster include Braxton Dean (G), Liam Doherty (G), Cooper Coons (G), Jaxon Houk (G), Jackson Thurman (F), Haiden King (F), and Nate Bolin (G). These sophomores are expected to make a big impact this season. Coon averaged 7.0 points a game and shot 34 percent from behind the arc and 75 percent from the line.
