“Aja is an elite shooter from deep with quick handles and an excellent feel for the game. Under estimated for her stature at 5’2, she plays much bigger than her size, able to defend any position with her high basketball IQ and rebound as well as anybody on the floor. She led the team in points, assists, and steals as a sophomore, making 50 threes on the season despite heavy attention from opposing defenses. To put it another way, it’s hard to define a “”baller,”” but you know it when you see it. Aja is a baller. Gym rat, coachable, truly loves the game, unstoppable motor, high IQ, incredibly skilled, all of the above. Great student in the classroom, leader in the hallways, who carries herself with respect, dignity and purpose. She would find a role on any team in the state.”

She suffered one of the worst knee injuries I have witnessed at a team camp two summers ago and was set to come back last Christmas, but she suffered another setback with her knee after trying to come back too quickly. I have coached 7 all-state guards in my 28 years of coaching and she is right up there with all of them. She averaged 18.0 ppg as a sophomore while being the focus of every defense they played against.
Katie would have been the difference in winning at least 6 more games last season. She possesses an unbelievable work ethic, and is thought of as one of the best guards in tradition rich Kingfisher County by the area coaches. As good as she is as a player, she is an even better person and student at school. She is held in high regard by her peers and teachers for her kindness and humbleness and for always putting others before herself. She is a throwback old school player who is tough and will play through any pain she faces. She comes from a great family where talent runs in the family as her older brother currently pitches at Oklahoma State University.”
