BOOKER T. WASHINGTON HORNETS
Coach: NATE GOODMAN
10-3
OFFENSE
Hornet Nation is ready for some football as new head coach Nate Goodman takes over the storied program. Goodman has a staff that includes Bill Coleman, Mickey Collins, Ben Barber, Jason Harris, Jonathan Harris, Isiah Johnson, Tyarise Stevenson, Jalen Moses, Chris Ivy, and DJ Jones. Coach Goodman and the staff are expecting big things from the team this season. “This season promises to be nothing short of thrilling! Our team is stacked with returning starters on both offense and defense, promising an even better performance this year. The excitement kicks off with intense matchups against Muskogee and Del City, both contenders in last year’s state championship and semifinal games. These games will be a true test of our team’s skills and determination,” said coach Goodman. Finding playmakers on offense is not difficult. Mykah Washington (Sr.) will see time at RB with Kayden McLellan (Sr.), Jaymien Compton (Jr.), Davion Durham (Sr.), and TJ Taylor (Jr.) at WR. Compton is an electric receiver and dangerous with the ball in his hands. Look for Phil Loadholt (So.) at center where he made a significant impact last year as a freshman.

DEFENSE
The defense returns eight starters to the field including Joseph Graves (6-3, 308, Jr.) and Dawayne Jones (Jr.) on the defensive line. “Our solid defense, led by the strong defensive line, is set to dominate and be among the best in the state,” said coach Goodman. Jones could be the top defensive lineman in the state with 19 D1 offers on the table and more on the way. Coach Goodman calls Jones a, “defensive line surgeon.” Graves is an animal up front as well and is called the epitome of today’s student-athlete. Graves has numerous D1 offers as well. Yarimiah Perry (Sr.) and Tayden Toles (Jr.) will both see time up front and at linebacker giving the defense more speed and quickness on the edge. Keynan Farley (Sr.) and Tyler Phillips (Sr.) will shore up the secondary and provide leadership to the defensive backfield.
