Ameer Abouhouli
Booker T. Washington High School
Ameer Abouhouli is a senior at Booker T. Washington High School and a member of the varsity soccer team. Abouhouli plays center-back for the soccer team at BTW, and he’s a member of a club team in Tulsa.
“On top of playing soccer for BTW, I am also captain of my club team at Academy FC. What I love most about both teams are the strong sense of camaraderie that we have. We both want the best for each other on and off the pitch and will always have each other’s backs. This allows us to be in sync with one another, allowing for better chemistry, which leads to wins and success,” said Abouhouli.
Abouhouli is a very active student at BTW and is a member of several clubs and organizations.
“Within the school I am a part of numerous clubs/organizations. I am a member of National Honor Society, SHS, Key Club, and Spanish Club. As well as the President of the Investing Club and Founder of Buzzin’ Book Club,” said Abouhouli.
As a student-athlete, Abouhouli takes his classroom work as serious as his work on the pitch.
“What I love most about BTW is that I am surrounded by friends that strive for success. Our ambition and determination within our group inspires each other to pursue success relentlessly, both in academics and our personal life. Booker T’s supportive environment enables and teaches us to surround ourselves with people that share our interests and goals and who better us,” said Abouhouli.
Always striving to be better, the senior is taking a ACT and PSAT course at Huntington Learning Center. Abouhouli said the instructors have been extremely helpful.
“The teachers that they have at Huntington are committed to their students and push them to reach their fullest potential. My teachers were Mr. Gaen and Ms. Ignatius, and their teachings continue to be useful to me. They have taught me a plethora of strategies and tips that not only helped me achieve high scores on both exams, but also helped my studies at high school as well. They are two of the best mentors I could ever have, and I hold them to a very high regard,” said Abouhouli.
