Booker T. Washington’s Ella Brown
Senior pitcher Ella Brown has been playing softball since she was seven years old, and this year she’s looking forward to an amazing season. After recovering from an ACL tear, Ella is ready to return to the mound stronger than ever.
“What I love most about my team and teammates at BTW is the relationship we have,” Ella said. “We always have each other’s backs, and everyone is always encouraging.”
That sense of family has helped her push through challenges and stay motivated during softball career.
A big influence in Ella’s journey has been her pitching coach, Whitney.
“She’s always pushing me to my full potential, and I just want to make her proud,” Ella said.
That inspiration has fueled her drive not only to recover but also to grow as a leader on and off the field. At school, Ella balances her commitment to softball with her academics. She’s a member of the National Honor Society and has a great interest in science, especially anatomy. She also looks back on her junior year English teacher, Mr. Harris, as one of her all-time favorite teachers.
When she’s not on the field or in the classroom, Ella enjoys hiking and spending time with friends and family. After graduation, she plans to pursue a degree in forensic science with the goal of becoming a forensic investigator.
As Ella heads into her senior season, she is excited to see growth in herself and her team. With Ella’s determination, positive attitude, and the support of her teammates, she’ll be leaving a lasting mark on Booker T. Washington softball.
