Errin Washington
Edison High School
VYPE: Errin, how does the team look this year and what are the strengths of the team?
Errin Washington: The team looks extremely strong not only physically but mentally as well this year. We also look very glued together and cohesive!
VYPE: Tell me your favorite memory while competing for Edison?
EW: My favorite memory would probably be getting stuck on the bus to our Tahlequah last year and then beating them 3-2 in a reverse sweep.
VYPE: What is your favorite subject in school?
EW: My favorite subject would have to be science especially now because I am taking a sort of science course in the form of dentistry at Tulsa Tech in the mornings.
VYPE: What makes Edison a great place to be a student-athlete?
EW: The ability to choose a great coaching staff, they not only help us with our sport but give us the flexibility to be a student first.
VYPE: Do you have a favorite place to play?
EW: My favorite place to play in is our home gym. The atmosphere with all the teams and all of the support is very overwhelming in an amazing way.
VYPE: Tell us who on the team keeps everyone laughing and who is the most serious?
EW: I would say who keeps us laughing would be a tie between our outside Reagan and our middle Reese. Our most serious would probably be me when we are in a game.
VYPE: How do you prepare yourself for competition?
EW: I prepare myself by having a good day the day before the game. I hype myself up and hype my teammates up as well as just keeping myself healthy. My position is the setting position, so I have to be there for my teammates.
VYPE: What’s the best advice you’ve been given?
EW: The best advice I have ever received is that playing volleyball is not a one woman show, so I should allow myself to make mistakes, and not beat down on myself.
VYPE: What are your plans for life after high school?
EW: I plan to go to college and possibly play college volleyball and get my doctorate degree in dentistry.
