Tulsa Memorial’s Grateful Eight

This year’s roster features eight seniors who know exactly what it means to wear “Memorial Chargers” across their chest. Alongside them, 6’6” forward Kam Boone and 6’4” sophomore guard Jarius Bossell complete a strong 10-man rotation that gives the Chargers both size and versatility. Each player brings a different strength and personality, creating a team that can adapt and present real matchup problems for any opponent. Behind them, a hungry group of underclassmen pushes the pace in practice, helping build a program where standards are set by everyone, not just the starters.

This season isn’t about starting over it’s about finishing what was started. Last year’s championship loss didn’t break the seniors; it sharpened them. It reminded them who they represent and what it takes to compete at the highest level. From early workouts to late-night messages of encouragement, they’ve carried one shared purpose: honor their school, their families, and the brothers beside them.

This year, that unity feels stronger and more intentional. Every senior has a message that fuels their effort. For Kaleb Jackson, it begins at home: “The why behind my effort is my family pushing me to become a great player for this team.”

Some focus on the legacy they’ll leave. “I hope to leave my mark by showing the young guys what it takes to win and be together as one,” says senior Isaiah Garrett. For Fabian Harris, the journey itself drives him: “The last two years together have been driving us to win the championship.”

Others center their motivation on leadership. Senior Jay Oates keeps his purpose simple and steady: he wants “to lead and be a hard worker,” setting an example through consistency and effort. And throughout the locker room, players point to one steady influence…Coach Allison. As Camron Hishaw explains, “Coach Allison is our biggest influence for shaping the team’s mindset.”

Above all, the seniors hope to be remembered not just for their play, but for their connection. Senior Shon King says it best, hoping people will recall “how together they were and how unselfish they played.”

This team isn’t chasing revenge. They’re chasing growth, excellence, and the standard they’ve set for themselves. They know a legacy isn’t defined only by wins, but by how a team rises after disappointment.

As this class takes the court for its final season, they aren’t promising victories, they’re promising effort, leadership, heart, and unity. Every game is a chance to show what Memorial basketball stands for. Last season may have ended in heartbreak, but this season is about legacy. Memorial Chargers are ready to finish what they started.
