VYPE: Lainey, what age did you start playing soccer and what grade are you in now?
Lainey Stanfill: I started playing when I was three and I am now a senior in high school.
VYPE: What position do you play?
LS: I play forward and sometimes in the midfield.
VYPE: What is the strength of your game and what have you improved on the most this season?
LS: The strength of my game is my speed, I’ve improved on my technical skills this season.
VYPE: What do you love most about your teammates?
LS: What I love most about my teammates is the way we all have each other’s backs. If one of our girls goes down, we’re all there to pick her back up.
VYPE: Do you belong to any clubs or groups at school or is soccer your focus?
LS: I do not, beside the soccer team.
VYPE: What’s your biggest challenge as a student-athlete?
LS: My biggest challenge as a student-athlete is finding the right balance between the two.
VYPE: Who inspires you?
LS: I am inspired by my club coach Rafael Rivera.
VYPE: What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
LS: I’m always spending time with my friends or family in my free time.
VYPE: What are your plans after high school?
LS: My plans are to continue playing soccer at college.
