Berryhill Chiefs Basketball Team Preview – Presented by Arnold’s Old Fashioned Hamburgers

BERRYHILL CHIEFS

Coach: MATTHEW CHAMBERLIN

2024-25 Record: 12-13

OUTLOOK

In his first season in the captain’s seat at BHS, Matthew Chamberlin is eager to get this team on the court. With five different players who started at various points last season, the team is shaping up to be one of the better groups in recent memory.

“The potential for this team is through the room. Four new varsity transfers will provide the team tremendous depth, energy, and athleticism. Look for the Chiefs to play fast, physical, and together in a way they haven’t in the past,” said coach Chamberlin.

Kaden Howard

Kaden Howard (6-6, Sr.) and Teegan Craig (6-3, Sr.) bring size and skill to the court. Howard is a leader for the Chiefs on and off the court. They are flanked by Zhacari Jackson (6-0, Jr.), Kam Simpson (5-11, Jr.) and Christian Nelson (6-2, Jr.), these three fast and athletic guards are poised for big seasons. Jackson is a VYPE Top 100 selectee and someone who’s stock is quickly rising thanks to his ability to score at all three levels and play tenacious defense.

Zhacari Jackson

“Zhacari’s trajectory is skyrocketing. The electric guard has been hard at work to develop his jump shot into a lethal weapon and will use it as an elite counter to his lightening quick first step that allows him to get to the rim with ease. By also adding a mid-range jumper to his arsenal, Jackson will be able to score at all three levels this season,” said coach Chamberlin

Owen Mackey (6-6, Jr.) and Kaden Chisum (5-11, Jr.) are transfers from Sand Springs and could prove transformational in the style of play and team connectivity for the Chiefs, according to coach Chamberlin. Add transfers Cyrus Pete (5-10, Jr.) from Will Rogers and Landon Bingham (6-0, Jr.) from KIPP and you’ve added high-level playmakers who bring more passion and enthusiasms for the game to the new-look Chiefs.

“Berryhill should have great balance inside and outside offensively,” said coach Chamberlin.

Also look for McGraw Givens (6-3, Sr.) at forward, Chase Reynolds (6-2, Sr.) at forward, Owen Archer (5-10, Jr.) at guard, Cordell Mack (5-11, Jr.) at guard, Gavin New (5-11, So.) at guard and Reece Barnett (6-3, Fr.) at forward.
