Bixby’s Brian Justice
Since the age of three, Bixby High School’s Brian Justice has called the baseball diamond his home away from home.
Coming into the 2025 season, Justice said he is ready to take the field and compete against the top talent in 6A.
“What I’m looking forward to most is getting to play with all my senior friends one more time before college and hopefully take home a state title like we did my sophomore year. I’ll be one of our district starters as well as playing shortstop the other days,” said Justice.
As one of the pitchers in the rotation, Justice believes he can help the Spartans pick up some big wins this season.
“ ”“On the mound my strengths are having command of all my pitches and throwing them in whatever counts I want. I’d say in the field my instincts and reads on ground balls are my best trait. When I’m hitting, I think my best ability is hardly striking out and working all parts of the field,” said Justice.
Over the years, many people have influenced Justice as a player, but few have made the impact as his former teammates from the class of 2023.
“I’d say the teammates that impressed me the most were the seniors from the ‘23 class. We had a rough week in mid-April losing I think 4 of 5, but we kept our composure and ended up winning what I think was 14 games straight as well as the state championship,” said Justice.
One of his proudest moments on the field came when he hit 90mph on the gun. Justice said he loves the game and his teammates.
“What I love most about my team is the family aspect. Everybody likes everybody. There’s no “seniority” in the cages where seniors skip the sophomores and all of that. We respect everybody is trying to get better and help us win. To add onto that, almost all of us hangout with each other on the weekends. Whether that’s playing basketball or going to Buffalo Wild Wings to watch games,” said Justice.
Justice plans to attend college and continue his baseball career.
