Bixby’s Kayla Estrada

Bixby High School senior Kayla Estrada started her cheer journey when she was only six years old. Now the soon-to-be graduate is preparing for the next chapter.

“After high school I will be attending Oklahoma State University to major in marketing,” said Estrada.

This season was a memorable one for Bixby cheer and Estrada, especially when she learned she would be a member of a special group at the end of the year.

“This season for me has been great, but also bittersweet because of it being my last season to cheer for Bixby. My favorite moment this year was trying out and being selected it be an All-State cheerleader. It was the cherry on top, before I close this chapter of my life,” said Estrada.

Her teammates hold a special place in her heart.

“I have been very impressed by my teammate Memphis Williams, who has grown so much this year with his stunting skills. He always comes in with a good attitude and ready to work,” Estrada said. “Ella Morgan’s most definitely keeps a smile on everyone’s face at practices. She lifts anyone up if they are in a sad mood and keeps the environment of our team fun. Whittier Pearman was always the one to keep people focused and in check at practices. Although Whittier loves goofing off and talking with her friends, she always knew when it was the time to stay focused and keep everyone locked in.”

Estrada is more than a cheerleader for the Spartans. She is involved in leadership, student council, and National Honor Society. All while being a member of a competitive club cheer team at Soco Intensity.

The senior said she finds inspiration in her faith. “God has inspired me throughout all my years of cheer to push through hard practices and rough days,” said Estrada.
