Bixby’s Mia Groves – FFA Spotlight
Bixby High School junior Mia Groves has a love for animals that motivated her decision to join the Future Farmers of America (FFA) program. She has appreciated many different aspects of the program over the years, yet one of her favorite memories comes from the very beginning.
“It means a lot to me to represent Bixby FFA,” said Groves. “One of my favorite memories in FFA is my first state convention. I loved spending time with all of my friends and getting to walk through the career fair.”
Bixby FFA instructor Brandon Sellers has nothing but praise for Groves and what she brings to the program.
“Mia is one of the kindest students we have in the FFA chapter,” he said. “She is always willing to help other students and make them feel welcomed and invited. Mia has an amazing work ethic and is always working with her show pig or working her job at a vet clinic.”
Groves learned that work ethic firsthand from someone very close to her.
“My dad is one of my biggest role models,” she said. “He’s always been there for me and has one of the best work ethics that I have ever seen.”
