Bixby’s Savanna Jamison – FFA Spotlight – Presented by Stewart Martin, Kubota

Savanna Jamison – Bixby High School

Savanna Jamison is a junior at Bixby High School and she is a member of the Bixby chapter of the Future Farmers of America program. Jamison says that being part of this group is something that she enjoys along with representing her school.

“It means a tremendous amount to me to be a part of the Bixby FFA,” she said. “I love my school program and would not change it for anything. I feel the same with the community of Bixby and their support.”

Throughout her life, there have been numerous people that have played a role in her life or helped influence Savanna. She says that there are a few that stand out.

“The biggest role models for me are my family and the National Finals Rodeo barrel racers,” Jamison said. “They push hard and they don’t give up.”

For her part in the FFA program, Savanna is on the show team for lambs and horses. She is also in the welding class for the Ag chapter. She says that she made the decision to join the FFA program because of someone that she is close to.

“My brother David was a big part of me joining the FFA,” she said. “He was a part of the program and graduated from the Ag program. It really looked like something I would like to do.”

Brandon Sellers leads Bixby FFA. He says that Savanna is an outstanding part of their group.

“Savanna is very dedicated to the FFA program,” he said. “She loves showing her horse and her lambs.”

During her time in the program, Jamison has made a lot of memories that she reflects on fondly. But she has one that stands out as her favorite.

“We went to a lamb show, one of the last ones, and stopped at Braum’s for food,” she recalled. “The energy there as we were sitting and eating was amazing. I’ll never forget all the laughs we have all the time.”
