Broken Arrow Boys Soccer

As the sun rises on another season of soccer in Oklahoma, coaches like Jordan Schmoker of Broken Arrow High School are excited about the prospect of having a championship caliber team.

Now in his fourth season at the helm of the program, Schmoker is eager to get his players on the field and see what they can accomplish as a group.

“This year marks the fourth season for our coaching staff at Broken Arrow, and it’s been a privilege to watch this group grow since their freshman year. This team is the closest-knit group I’ve ever had the honor of coaching, and their bond is evident both on and off the field,” said coach Schmoker.

What can the Tiger faithful expect to see from this team in 2025? Coach Schmoker said the team will play with intensity and a lot of energy.

“Fans can expect an exciting season filled with high-energy performances and a possession-focused style of play that showcases their skill and teamwork. This group is special, and they’re ready to leave it all on the field,” said coach Schmoker.

One player everyone is familiar with is Joshua Ngoyi. A leader on and off the field for the Tigers, Ngoyi has proven himself year after year as one of the top players in the class.

“Joshua is the heartbeat of our team, a leader who sets the tone with an unmatched work rate and relentless drive. On the field, he’s the first to push the pace, the last to let up, and always the loudest voice of encouragement and accountability. Off the field, Joshua’s leadership shines just as brightly—his positive communication uplifts teammates in every situation, and his high standards inspire everyone to give their best,” coach Mills said. “He doesn’t just demand excellence; he models it, proving that leadership is not just about words but actions. Joshua is the kind of leader who makes everyone around him better, and his presence is a driving force behind our success.”

Another high-energy player to watch this season is Mateo Ortega. His relentless energy and determination sets him apart from his peers. According to coach Mills, Ortega is the “spark that keeps the team firing.”
