Coweta Volleyball
Entering the month of September, the No. 10 ranked volleyball in Class 5A was 6-5 with big wins over Pryor, Tahlequah, Sapulpa, Lawton MacArthur, and Putnam City. Head coach Janette Vele said the team was improving in the right areas.
“I am seeing growth through their knowledge of the game, and their teamwork on and off the court,” said Vele.
Tough matches against opponents like Collinsville, Tahlequah and Catoosa forced the Lady Tigers to find a way to win. Coach Vele said those types of games help this team grow and will pay dividends down the stretch.
“They all are great teams; they push and challenge our girls mentally and physically. I think down the road it will help our team mentally prepare for future competitor’s,” said Vele.
The schedule is packed with exciting road game and home games including Booker T. Washington, North Rock Creek, and Regent Prep at home. Road games left on the schedule include McAlester, Union, Edison, Glenpool, and a trip to the Claremore Crossover tournament in late September.
