Coweta’s Baylor Bart – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by Redbud Physical Therapy of Coweta

Coweta’s Baylor Bart

It’s hard enough to play one varsity sport and be any good at it. Coweta High School’s Baylor Bart excels at two sports, soccer and wrestling.

Bart started playing soccer when he was only four years old and started wrestling at age five. Now he’s ending his junior year and is looking forward to being a senior next year. Bart said being a student-athlete at CHS is great because of the support they get from the coaches, teachers and administrators.

“The willingness of teachers and administration to work with student-athletes to be able to play in sports is what makes being a student-athlete great at CHS,” said Bart.

On the pitch, Bart is a goalkeeper, where his natural instincts guide him to make plays and keep opponents off the scoreboard.

“One of my strengths in soccer is my IQ of the game, I’ve improved on trusting my instincts making the right plays,” said Bart.

On the mat, Bart has become an outstanding wrestler who expects to win when he steps onto the mat.

“One of my favorite memories as a wrestler was my freshman year making Dual State finals and celebrating in the locker room after,” Bart said. “A big inspiration to me on and off the mat is Toby Shipman. He is one of the best people I have ever met, represents Coweta the best way anyone could.”

As for his plans for the summer, Bart is hitting some camps and getting back in the wrestling room.

“My plans for summer are to go to some soccer camps and get in the wrestling room,” Bart said. “When I have some downtime, I enjoy hanging out with friends, going to the field, and spend time with my family. My goal after high school is to play a sport at the next level.”
