Coweta’s Conner Edmiston
Coweta High School senior Conner Edmiston started playing soccer at the age of four. While that may be the norm these days, Edmiston has continued to play and is a four-year starter for the Tigers. Edmiston has set high goals for himself and the team this year.
“My goals for this season are to make playoffs and grow as a team,” said Edmiston.
This year Edmiston was voted in as one of two captains. The other being Camdin Wood. But Edmiston said his teammates have great chemistry, making his job much easier.
“I love how we all get along really well and have strong chemistry. The teammate who does the little things to help the team would be Christopher Escobedo. He is always positive and knows how to uplift teammates and keep the team together,” Edmiston said. “Escobedo is a teammate I can always count on for a good laugh. He gets along with everybody and has a great sense of humor.”
As for his own game, Edmiston said he has continued to work hard to improve in all areas.
“I would say I have high soccer intelligence and am a strong defensive player. For the season, I have worked on winning balls out of the air,” Edmiston said. “I enjoy working closely with my coaches and developing a relationship with them and the team.”
The senior said Cager (Samuel) Phillips is a player who has impressed him this year because of his improvement and strong work ethic. He also said he finds inspiration in his father. “My dad inspires me the most. He has a strong work ethic and I’ve always looked up to it. Both my parents have always been super supportive through my soccer career and have always helped me on and off the field,” said Edmiston.
After high school, Edmiston plans to attend college to get a degree in sports management and work in the sports industry.
