Kooper Mcnac
Coweta High School
Known as one of the hardest working players and best defenders on the basketball team, Kooper Mcnac does not care about getting the credit, he just wants his team to be successful. Now a junior, Kooper can play multiple positions for head coach Matt Watson.
“I play the 3 or 4 spot,” Mcnac said. “I started playing basketball in 1st grade.”
During that time, Mcnac said he has enjoyed many things about being a Coweta Tiger, on and off the court.
“My favorite moment for Coweta is all the basketball camps we go to and last year after the season we went to Top Golf and got to spend time as a team before the seniors left,” said Mcnac.
Mcnac said being a student-athlete at CHS is special because they support the athletes, and you get a great education. In the classroom, Mcnac said his favorite subject is history.
“CHS is a great place for me as a student-athlete because their education is better than the other school’s education I came from.”
As a basketball player, Mcnac said his teammates are like family and several teammates have left an impression on him as a varsity player.
“ ”“My favorite former teammate is Owen McElroy. He was a senior last year and he was my favorite because he helped me with things to learn in basketball and he is funny,” Mcnac said. “The thing I love most about my teammates is I feel like were one big family we all get along with each other and its always a good time when we’re hanging out. I also play football. A teammate that keeps everyone laughing is Either Connor Jensen or me were always having a good time the most serious I would say is Blake McKinney.”
Mcnac said he is always working on his game and preparing himself for competition.
“I prepare myself by looking at the scout our coaches have come up with and listen to music and get into that game time mode.”
Once his high school playing days come to an end, Mcnac plans to attend college and possibly continue to play at the next level.
“My goal for life after high school is go to college and hopefully get a chance to play ball.
The part of my game that has improved the most is my defense for sure and my shooting is also getting way better,” said Mcnac.
The junior said he finds inspiration in a family member. “The person that probably inspires me the most is my Mom. She’s hard working and provides for me and my family in so many ways and I want to be able to do the same as she does for us.”
