Coweta’s Noah Finley

Being a sports role model is important to Coweta High School sophomore Noah Finley.

“I hope that one day I can be an example for the younger athletes and be the type of person they can look up to both in sports and the community,” Finley said.

The football, basketball, and track athlete has three years to do it, and one year already under his belt. Finley considers going to the state track meet last spring as a freshman as the biggest accomplishment so far in his high school athletic career.

What the sports the Tiger sophomore has been involved with, whether it be football, basketball, or track, have taught him, “to keep pushing not just yourself but everyone around you to become better and better each day,” said Finley said, who is also actively involved as a member of the youth group at his church, the National Junior Honor Society, and the Native American Student Organization.

The people in his life have made a positive impression on him.

“Mr. Carter is my favorite teacher,” Finley said. “He taught me in seventh and eighth grade math. My mom and dad inspire me because they want me to become the best I can be and are always supporting me in everything I do,” he added.

Everyone has a teammate they are motivated by. Finley has his.

“Kooper McNac has left the biggest impression on me because ever since I met him in eighth grade, he’s been someone that I see as myself one day, Finley said.

The best advice he has received, he said, “is the teaching of how to become a better person to everyone, no matter the background.”

Most importantly, Finley never wants to go without acknowledging his Christian faith.

“I want to give a shoutout to God and how He has guided me through life, and all my teammates and coaches, as they are like family to me,” he said.
