Gearing up for Football with Glenpool’s Landon Pangle – Presented by Rib Crib

When playing competitive sports, Landon Pangle says the best advice is “Don’t lose!” His desire to compete and win keeps him passionate about sports. Landon is on the track team, wrestling team and plays football for Glenpool High School.

Landon is finishing his sophomore year. He is looking forward to making even more memories with his friends and teammates throughout his high school career. The best part of being on a team are the bonds created with teammates.

One teammate on the football field who stands out to Landon is Switzer McGeeley. “He is a great leader and someone I loved to learn from.”

Landon enjoys all sports but says his favorite is a toss-up between football and wrestling. “I just like to compete as much as possible.” The most valuable lesson he has gotten from sports is to “learn from your losses and mistakes and adapt from them,” he said.

In football, he plays guard and D-end. Landon showed early athletic ability, earning a varsity starting position as a freshman in both football and wrestling. Qualifying for state in wrestling stands out as a major accomplishment he is proud of.

Landon’s favorite teacher is Mrs. Rodgers from his freshman year. “She just did a great job teaching me,” he says.

The most inspiring person in his life is his mom. “She is the hardest-working person I’ve ever met.”

Being part of sports at GPS is an opportunity for Landon to represent his town. This is what he enjoys most about being a student athlete. Without support from the school, he would not be where he is today. “I would like to thank all my coaches and my wrestling drill partner, Kaden Witzel,” says Landon.

While competition is important, Landon is still a high school student who enjoys spending his free time hanging out with friends. After high school he would love to have the opportunity to play sports at the next level. A long-term career goal away from athletics is to become a welder.
