Makynlee Jackson, a junior at Glenpool High School, is a student athlete involved in softball, track, NHS and FCCLA. Makynlee is also coaching a track team during the summer. She took the time to answer questions about herself and her sport.
Q:What has your sport taught you that you use in your daily life?
A:To overcome tough obstacles and to always focus on yourself.
Q: What is your favorite part about being on a team?
A: I get to build amazing and strong bonds with my teammates.
Q: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade and why?
A: Coach Izzy. He is our head football coach, and we get along like siblings.
Q: Who inspires you and why?
A: My dad, because he handles his business really well and pushes me the way most people can’t.
Q: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?
A: Stella Edison, she is a senior this year and we ran track together. She was always there calming me down before a race or even cheering me on.
Q: Here is your chance to give a shoutout or say thank you to anyone you wish.
A: Just to thank God for blessing me with the most amazing parents and the people in my life that truly love me.
Q: What is your favorite part about representing your high school as an athlete?
A: I am helping build their program and I’m also making a name for myself.
Q: What has been your favorite memory and/or accomplishment of playing?
A: My 4×1 relay team were state champs my sophomore year!!
Q: What is the best advice that anyone has given you?
A: Focus on yourself first before you worry about others.
