Glenpool’s Noah Green

By Trina Walker

Wearing the team jersey with Glenpool across his chest is an honor for Noah Green. He is a GHS junior who loves representing his school on the basketball court.

“Do not let anyone outwork me,” is advice Green says helped him find success in his athletic pursuits.

Playing basketball has taught him to work hard but he says the details are why he loves the game. Great players and great games are made when all the small details come together.

Green finds inspiration in the seniors ahead of him. By following their example, he has grown as a player. Teammate Jonas Boyd is just one who stands out, having helped teach Green the meaning of hard work.

The adrenaline rush of winning big games and even consoling teammates after a tough loss are just a few examples of the moments experienced playing basketball. Moments like these, the good and the bad, are what make Green passionate about basketball.

Making the middle school team was when Green really became serious about basketball. While he had always loved the game, this accomplishment proved he had the skill to compete.

“It’s been a part of my life for as long as I can remember,” he said.

Green’s dad is a lifelong basketball player. His passion for basketball sparked the love of the game in his children. By introducing them to the sport, Green and his sister have both enjoyed basketball since they were young.

“I want to thank my dad for always continuously coaching me throughout my life,” Green said.

His favorite teacher is Coach Gibson and his favorite subject is science. Green is an inquisitive student who enjoys learning new things.

“My favorite subject has always been science because you can always learn something new,” he said.

Of all the vacations he has taken, Green says going to New York City was his favorite. It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience he will never forget.
After high school, Green plans to go to college. His goal is to achieve the highest level of education that he can.
