VYPE: Molly, what grade are you in and when did you first get into dance?
Molly LaFevers: I am a sophomore, and I started dance when I was 18 months old.
VYPE: What does it mean to you to be a Ping Ping?
ML: To me, being a Ping Ping means being a member of a legacy of amazing dancers from Sapulpa for the last 50 years. It’s one of our town’s most successful programs filled with many state and national championships.
VYPE: What do you love most about this group?
ML: What I love most about my team is that we all have the same goal! Everyone on the team works hard encourages each other throughout practices. We also have the most amazing coaches that work so hard to help us be the best we can be!
VYPE: What has surprised you this season?
ML: The biggest surprise is our theme for our kick dance! I love the concept, but I can’t say what it is just yet!
VYPE: Who inspires you?
ML: Two people who inspire me are my mom Rebecca LaFevers and my aunt/dance teacher Rachel Porter. They are both really hard workers, and they have always been my biggest cheerleaders.
VYPE: What is your favorite subject in school and who is your favorite teacher?
ML: My favorite subject in school is math. My favorite teacher from 8th and 9nth grade is Mrs. Hendrickson. She always helped me whenever I needed it and always encouraged me!
VYPE: Which teammate is the most vocal and who keeps everyone laughing?
ML: Rian Shelley, she always cheers everyone up! She is one of the funniest people I have ever known and is such a joy to be around.
VYPE: How do you like to spend your free time?
ML: In my free time I love being an assistant teacher at my dance studio, Ovations Studio and Gym. I help teach younger kids and I get to see their love for dance grow.
VYPE: What are your plans for life after high school?
ML: After I graduate, I would like to dance on a college dance team and graduate with a business degree.
