Jenks Girls Tennis

Not to be outdone by the boys, the Jenks girls tennis program, coached by Jeff Wollmershauser, has amassed their own truckload of state titles during the course of the program’s history. With 20 team titles, the girls program is currently on a back-to-back title run and looking for that three-peat.

“Jenks is reigning back-to-back state champions. Looking to field another solid team to make another run,” said coach Wollmershauser.

Senior Ellie Davis makes her return for her final year of prep tennis and will play a big role in helping the Lady Trojans grab another state title.

“Ellie is our only returning varsity senior this year. She was runner up at No. 2 Doubles last year. She should do very well at whatever position she plays this year,” said Wollmershauser.

On the other end of the grade spectrum, freshman Kaylin Chen enters the program with high hopes of adding her name to the list of greats from the Jenks tennis program. Coach Wollmershauser said Chen has enjoyed great success in the younger ranks.

“Chen was runner up at No. 2 singles for junior high state championship. Should have a very successful season. Will be interested to see what she does this year,” said Wollmershauser.

Once again, the Lady Trojans face a tough schedule including the Jenks Invitational to open the season. Other tournament trips include Ponca City, Heritage Hall, Enid, Broken Arrow, Bixby, and Union before the regional tournament on May 5th. Duels with Cascia Hall, Holland Hall and Bishop Kelley are on the schedule as well.
