Jenks Senior Spotlight Brooklyn Bowman – Presented by Tulsa Bone and Joint

Brooklyn Bowman is a senior and a member of the varsity golf team. We caught up with Brooklyn to ask her a few questions about the upcoming season and her plans for life after high school. 

VYPE: What age did you start golf?

Brooklyn Bowman: I started competitive golf in 8th grade.

VYPE: What are you looking forward to the most this season?

BB: I am looking forward to playing in tournaments with my team and getting to support each other! 

VYPE: What is the strength of your skill set and what have you improved on for this season?

BB: My strength is probably my accuracy of my driver. I have improved my short game for this season.

VYPE: What makes JHS a great place for you as a student-athlete?

BB: I love the community that we have with our teachers and how supportive they are with our sports; you always know that they will be cheering you on.  

VYPE: Have you been impressed with a teammate this season or have a former teammate who left an impression on you?

BB: I have been impressed with my teammate Francie! She has worked so hard and gotten better over the past two years! She has such a good work ethic and is always uplifting to our team! 

VYPE: Which teammate keeps everyone laughing, who is the most serious?

BB: Rylee Williams keeps everyone laughing. Sophia is probably the most serious. 

VYPE: How do you mentally prepare yourself for competition?

BB: I try to keep myself in a positive mindset, so that I don’t get upset about the bad shots. 

VYPE: What do you love most about your teammates?

BB: We all support each other no matter if we have a good or bad round and lift each other up!

VYPE: What’s the goal for life after high school?

BB: I am planning to attend Baker University in Baldwin City, KS. To play collegiate golf and major in business finance. 

VYPE: Who inspires you on or off the course?

BB: Probably my coach! Audra Smalley! She is super uplifting and very hardworking!! She is so kind to everyone. 

VYPE: What accomplishment are you most proud of?

BB: Winning state runner up with my team and committing to play college golf!
