JENKS TROJANS
Coach: ADAM GAYLOR
8-4
OFFENSE
The shifting tides of Oklahoma high school football seem to change with every season’s end. The Trojans promoted defensive coordinator Adam Gaylor to head coach after Keith Riggs announced his retirement. Coach Gaylor and his staff are focused on the task at hand, continuing the long tradition of fielding a winning program and competing for state titles. The roster may look slightly different this season, but the expectations are the same. Kaydin “KD” Jones (6-0, 185, Sr.) enters his senior season as an Oklahoma State commit and his numbers show you why. Jones has 633 carries for 2,756 yards and 32 TDs in addition to his 70 receptions for 966 yards and eight scores. Last season Jones had three games with over 200-yards, and he has the most receptions by a running back in school history. The offensive line can be proud of that production as guys like Ryley Kester (6-3, 295, Sr.) and Odaefe Oruru (6-6, 305, Jr.) will help add to those totals. The up-tempo offense will lean on wide receivers Kailib Dillard (6-2, 180, Jr.) and Jaylon Cato (5-10, 170, Jr.) is the passing game as well as Braxton Daniel (6-3, 215, Jr.) at tight end. Coming into the season, Cato has 32 receptions, 339 yards and four TDs to his credit. Also look for Jamison Mobley to step in and be a dominant player on the offensive line.
DEFENSE
Defensively the Trojans return four starters from last years team. A familiar name will get this started up front for the Trojans as Luke McInelly (6-1, 265, Jr.) brings his physical style of play to the defensive line. As a sophomore, McInelly recorded 70 tackles, seven sacks, five TFLs and recovered one fumble. His play helps set the tone for the defense. Rhett Pangburn (6-3, 265, Sr.) joins McInelly on the line. Pangburn had 33 tackles and five sacks last season and is looking to increase his production with more snaps. Dillard will start at one of the safety spots with Ace Gilliam (6-1, 165, Sr.) playing a corner position. Dillard had 68 tackles, one INT and seven PBUs while Gilliam added 22 tackles and three PBUs. Clark Cariker (5-11, 185, Jr.) will play the hybrid nickel/safety spot in coach Gaylor’s multiple set defense. Cariker accounted for 32 tackles, two TFLs, one INT and forced one fumble. Another name to watch in the secondary is Kade Klein. Son of former OU Sooner Kory Klein, Kade is a standout safety and wide receiver. Linebacker Pearce Brann (5-11, 185, Jr.) looks to have a big year as he takes on a larger role on defense. Brann is a 4.0 GPA student, an FCA officer and a leader on and off the field for the Trojans.
