VYPE: What grade are you in and when did you know you wanted to become a Ping Ping?
Paisley Williams: I’m a senior and I knew I wanted to be a Ping Ping since I was in elementary school and attended my first ping clinic. I always loved the white boots!
VYPE: Most people don’t realize the hard work that goes into being a Ping Ping. Talk about how much time you spend in practice.
PW: We practice every day for about 2-3 hours. We go in sometimes as early as 6 o’clock and we’re there until almost 9.
VYPE: What do you love most about your teammates?
PW: We’re super close, we have a family dynamic and no matter how hard practice is, we can always rely on each other to be there.
VYPE: Do you belong to any other clubs or groups at school?
PW: I am student council president, I’m part of National Honor Society, athletic leadership and I am in Indian education.
VYPE: Who inspires you and why?
PW: My parents inspire me. They are the hardest working people I know, and they’ve taught me so many life lessons.
VYPE: What makes being a Ping Ping special to you?
PW: Being able to perform in front of all the little girls who hope to be in our places one day.
VYPE: What’s the best advice you have ever been given?
PW: “People are going to like you for you, if they don’t, they don’t deserve you.”
VYPE: What are your goals or plans after high school?
PW: I am in cosmetology school and I plan to finish that and open my own salon.
VYPE: Do you have a favorite teacher or subject in school?
PW: My favorite teacher is Mrs. Zimmerman; she has always helped me out whenever I’ve needed it and truly cares about her students.
VYPE: What do you enjoy doing with your free time?
PW: I enjoy spending time with my family and friends.
