Q&A with Coweta’s Aiden Rainbolt – Track Spotlight – Presented by Redbud Physical Therapy of Coweta

Coweta’s Aiden Rainbolt

VYPE: Aiden, you’re a senior now, but when did you start competing in track?

Aiden Rainbolt: I started track my sophomore year.

VYPE: What events are you competing in for Coweta High School?

AR: I compete in the 800, the 4×800 relay, the 4×400 relay and sometimes the mile.

VYPE: What is your strength on the track?

AR: Because I am more of a distance runner who can move down to the 400, my strength is I have more speed than most of the other 800 runners.

VYPE: How do you mentally prepare yourself for competition?

AR: Before my races when I am warming up, I like to visualize myself in the race doing well and it seems to help the pre-race nerves.

VYPE: What does the support of your friends and family mean to you?

AR: I love when my family or friends come to my meets because when I hear them cheering me on it really does help.

VYPE: What do you love most about your teammates?

AR: My teammates are similar in speed to me, so I have several good training partners and they are all really funny, so it makes practice and meets super fun.

VYPE: Who inspires you?

AR: People who really inspire me are my parents, they are great influences many ways and I look up to them both a ton.

VYPE: What challenges do you face as a high school athlete?

AR: Being a student-athlete can be challenging with keeping grades good, working hard in my sport, and having work but it’s worth it.

VYPE: What are your plans for life after high school?

AR: My plan after high school is to get my EMT basic close to home and get on at a fire department because that is something I’m excited to do.
