

Q&A with Branden Smith – Glenpool Basketball

VYPE: What grade are you currently in and how long have you been playing basketball?
Branden Smith: I am currently a senior and I started playing basketball in the 3rd grade.
VYPE: What teammate can you beat in a game if pig?
BS: A teammate I love beating in a game of PIG is Chance Watashe.
VYPE: What opponent do you look forward to playing this season?
BS: I am really looking forward to playing Sapulpa the most this season. We have former friends and teammates that have transferred to Sapulpa, so I definitely have that game circled.
VYPE: What is the toughest gym to play in on the road?
BS: I would say the toughest gym I’ve had the privilege to play in is Jenks. Their gym is huge, and their student section is loud and ruckus!

BS: The greatest basketball player of all time is no doubt Lebron James.
VYPE: What makes being a student-athlete at Glenpool special to you?
BS: I have a genuine love for the game, for my teammates and the community of Glenpool. It just brings out a level of passion from me that is so special, both on and off the court.
VYPE: What is your favorite school subject and who is your favorite teacher?
BS: My favorite subject in school is history. I love learning world history and understanding events that have happened and the timeline of how they have affected current times. My favorite teacher is Mr. Taylor.
VYPE: Who has been a big influence in your life and why?
BS: The biggest influence is absolutely my mom because she is and always has been there for me. She sacrifices a lot to help me and my little brother. She is the most loving, caring and compassionate person I know.
VYPE: What are your plans for after graduation?
BS: My immediate plan after graduation is to pursue my dream of playing basketball at the collegiate level.
