Q&A with Glenpool’s Jada Blades – Presented by Rib Crib

VYPE: Jada, what grade are you in this year?

Jada Blades: I am a freshman this year.

VYPE: When did you get your start in cheer?

JB: I first started cheering in the 5th grade for the youth Glenpool Warrior football teams.

VYPE: What do you love most about the team and your teammates?

JB: I love our positivity and encouragement from each other. We enjoy hanging out together and doing team bonding activities.

VYPE: What is your job on the team?

JB: My job on the cheer squad is to be a good tumbler and to do stunts.

VYPE: What’s been your biggest surprise this season?

JB: My biggest surprise this season is learning how to do a FULL in tumbling and trusting myself that I can do it.

VYPE: Who inspires you?

JB: My mom inspires me because she pushes me to do my best and to be a strong person. She always tells me to believe in myself and that I don’t have to always be perfect. She loves me for who I am.

VYPE: What’s your favorite subject in school and who is your favorite teacher?

JB: My favorite subject is Science/Biology and my favorite teacher was Ms. Click in 4th grade. She taught me how to love science and help me when I would struggle in her class.

VYPE: Beside cheer, what other actitivites are you involved in at GHS?

JB: Besides being on the current GHS cheer squad, I would love to join our school Student Council. I am a part of our HS Bible study group on Tuesdays during Advisory. I will also be a part of the high school track team and hope to be on one of the relay teams.

VYPE: What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

JB: During my free time I enjoy watching movies, riding my bike to the park, going to church,  jumping on the trampoline and hanging out with my older siblings.

VYPE: You’re only a freshman, but what do you think you would like to do after high school?

JB: After I graduate HS I would like to study Marine Biology and become a college cheerleader, preferably at OSU.
