Q&A with Sapulpa’s Connor Benedict – Presented by Andy’s Bar & Grill

VYPE: What goals do you have for this soccer season?

Connor Benedict: My main goal this year is to just enjoy my last year with my friends and make memories and to also win games and make it to the playoffs.

VYPE: What has soccer taught you that you use in your daily life?

CB: Soccer has taught me to be disciplined, and you have to work towards what you want. If you don’t, you’ll never meet your goals.

VYPE: What’s your favorite part of being involved in soccer?

CB: My favorite part of soccer is the competition between players and also meeting new people and making new friends.

VYPE: Who inspires you and why?

CB: My family inspires me to work hard every day and the support they give me just pushes me to work even harder.

VYPE: What do you think is the biggest challenge in soccer?

CB: The biggest challenge in soccer is probably being able to control yourself mentally and to keep on moving forward no matter the circumstance.

VYPE: What do you think makes a great soccer player?

CB: I think a great mentality and strong work ethic makes a great player.

VYPE: Who in your family is the best athlete? Explain.

CB: Personally, I’d say I’m the best athlete in my family. I’ve stuck to this sport since I was four years old and put many hours and much energy into this sport that I love.

VYPE: What’s one sport you wish you could play that you don’t already play?

CB: I wish I could play basketball; it’s definitely an interesting sport and I wish I was good at it.

VYPE: What’s your go-to pregame song?

CB: My pregame song would probably have to be “Amor” by Emmanuel Cortes, “Si No Es Contigo” by Chris Mj, or “The Color Violet” by Tory Lanez.
