Dawsen Briscoe’s athletic pursuits are diverse. He can be found on the golf course and on the wrestling mat. Whatever sport he represents, Dawsen enjoys wearing the black and gold of Charles Page High School in Sand Springs.

Dawsen is a senior this year. He has learned valuable lessons playing sports for CPHS. “Wrestling taught me discipline and golf has taught me to always stay positive,” he said.

He has wrestled throughout high school and is a state qualifier. Golf came a little later. Dawsen started taking golf seriously his sophomore year when he began playing with his friends. His best friend is the teammate he has the most fun with on the golf course.

“My favorite teammate would be Brighton Davidson because of his comedic relief and because he’s my best friend,” said Briscoe.

Dawsen enjoys the competition but says his favorite sports memories are the practices and just taking in the experience of playing in high school while it lasts.

“I enjoy the practices but more than anything I enjoy the time I have in high school sports because I know that it’s temporary,” he said.

Playing high school golf allows students to play on golf courses across the state. His favorite memory is getting to play Cedar Ridge.

“The course was in great shape and beautiful,” said Dawsen.

Playing golf is time consuming. Dawsen is thankful to his parents for supporting his love of golf.

“I want to shoutout my parents for allowing me to spend my time and weekends at the golf course,” he said.

He finds inspiration in his faith.

“My biggest inspiration and motivation is to live like Jesus. Psalms 73:26, says that no matter the circumstances God is with me.”
