Coach: TRENT CLEVELAND

Entering the new season, the Lady Sandites of Sand Springs are poised for an excellent season on the mat. Head coach Trent Cleveland has several wrestlers returning with experience giving them a shot at being one of the top teams in the class.
“The Lady Sandites only graduated one last season. This is a record year for starters returning not to mention a few freshmen who should crack the lineup. The girls coaches in Sand Springs are excited and ready to have a record year,” coach Cleveland said.
Ambrielle Chambers makes her way back to the mat after enjoying a solid sophomore season.
“Ambrielle returns for her junior season with a career record of 36-17. She is the first two-time state qualifier in Lady Sandite wrestling history,” coach Cleveland said.
As the program continues to build a foundation of great wrestlers, coach Cleveland has a few underclassmen who are stepping up in a big way this season. One of those wrestlers to watch is Baylin Maynard.
“Baylin just moved up from Clyde Boyd this year. She had a persistent Junior High wrestling career and also wrestles club on the side. Baylin has the qualities to have a successful high school career as well,” coach Cleveland said.
Another underclassman with tremendous potential is Hannah Stephenson.
“With high hopes for last season, Hannah unfortunately suffered a season ending injury in one of the pre-season tournaments. Although she was sidelined, she still showed up to support her teammates. She will be ready this season and have her sights set on the state tournament,” coach Cleveland said.
You can’t talk about Sandite wrestling without talking about Rylee Allen. Allen posted the best record of any Lady Sandite wrestler last season going 20-9 on the year.
“She is the best teammate anyone could ever ask for. From her positive vibes to always bringing a smile to everyone’s face, she definitely makes other girls in the room better people,” coach Cleveland said.
